COOKING WITH MATHS

What did you learn about maths and what principle did you  investigate?

We used a few maths things like  fractions, measurement and adding.

We had to cut the 2 rolls in half so that we ended up with four pieces.

We measured the quality of butter needed for the soup and the garlic bread.

We used maths to do our budget.

COOKING WITH SCIENCE

What did you learn about maths and what principle did you  investigate?

We  learnt  that  solids  melt  into  liquids when  heated. The butter melted into liquid as it heated. We put butter and bacon and a lot of other ingredients in a pan. We put the things in one by one and watched them as they got hot. As the pumpkin heated it got soft. To make it into soup we needed to add liquid.

THINKING CURRICULUM

What did our group find out about the Thinking Curriculum especially Habits of Mind?

ONLINE TEAM WORK

What did we learn about computer technology, group work, working online with partner

We really hoped it would work. We were delighted because it worked. We were thinking  in our head don't spill it. At times it got really funny, because the other group made chicken drumsticks with herbs. Stef said: "Don't eat that,  its dirty, what have you done with your food,  have you dropped it in the dirt ?"

We think it's great that we get to work with another school. It's so much fun but we think we don't  get to work with them enough. I think it was good. At one stage the other class got a bit silly. Tyler  wouldn't  speak properly. We will tell you who we spoke to : Stef : Tyler Sinead : Emily  Meaghan : Daniel Sierra : Laura
