KIDS
COOKING WITH CALCULATIONS AND CHEMISTRY OR KC3
is an Online Collaborative Mentoring Project being conducted by the Knox
Northwest Cluster of Schools as part of the Australian Government
Quality Teacher Project with boys education being a focus.
KC3
is a cross curricular and cross age project
bringing together students, teachers, leaders and experts using
information communication technology such as videoconferencing and email, to
form an engaging online learning community. Food and
cookery are being used by participants separated by great distances to
investigate mathematics, science and ICT principles and concepts.
During
2004 participants will work with online experts to create recipes that
tantalise the taste buds, motivate the mathematicians & stimulate
the scientists. Features of the project include:
-
KC3
Recipe Cookbook - Classes from Years Prep to 10 will create, cook
and add recipes ideas to the online cookbook that showcases maths,
science & thinking curriculum.
-
KC3
Online Collaborative Cooking Project will bring together groups of
students from distant locations in a virtual restaurant environment.
-
Students
will become the stars of a new cooking show concept in the 'KC3
Kids Cooking For TV' project.
The
Knox Northwest cluster made up of Bayswater Primary, Bayswater West
Primary, Boronia West Primary and Bayswater Secondary College together
with Ocean Grove Primary are working together to create sustained
