7/8 of 16 lemons  

200 grams of white sugar

2000ml of tap water

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1 lemon = 50c

16 lemons = $8.00

7/8 of $8.00 = $7.00

 

1 kg of sugar = $2.00 200g = 1/5 of 1kg

1/5 of 200 = 40cents

 

2000ml * 0 = 0

 

Total budget

$7.00 + 0.40 + 0 = $7.40

 

 

 

  1. Wash hands and wash lemons thoroughly.  

  2. With a sharp knife cut lemon in half.  This will show 8 lemon segments but remember that this is half of the whole lemon.

  3. Cut out seven of the eight lemon segments and then do the same to the top half of the lemon.

  4. You now have successfully cut out 7/8 of the lemon so well done!

  5. Cut out 7/8 of each of the remaining thirteen  lemons.

  6. Place all 96 segments of lemon into a blender.

  7. Pour in the 200 grams of sugar and the 2000ml of water and blend thoroughly.

  8. Serves 10
