Experimenting with Food
REVERSIBLE or IRREVERSIBLE?
|
We have been completing cooking experiments to find out whether cooking and heat causes irreversible or reversible changes in food. This is what we have found so far... Bread - Toast Solid - Solid |

|
Heat caused change in appearance and texture. |
(Taste Testing - the best bit) |
(Deciding on a verdict) |
| VERDICT - IRREVERSIBLE | ||
1) "Lets get the ingredients and method
right". |
2) From solid crystals to liquid
liquid |
3) Measuring water (Math) |
4) Dividing our fair share |
5) The end product...Liquid or solid? |
|
|
Solid - Liquid Hot water (heat) created a change in appearance. VERDICT: IRREVERSIBLE
|
MUFFINS!!!
| 1) Mixing muffins
|
2) Dividing the mixture into 12 even parts (Fractions)
|
| 3) Cooking muffins - Heat causes the matter to change
substance (liquid to a solid)
|
4) The final product - "Blueberry, Banana, Chocolate Chip or Chocolate with white chocolate chips?"
|
REVERSIBLE or IRREVERSIBLE: After our evaluations and taste testing, Middle M decided that Muffins were an IRREVERSIBLE change.
WHAT DID THEY TASTE LIKE??? (MM answered)
"Like chocolate" "Great" "So yummy" "Beautiful" "They're so good!"
